Project Reflection
In this project, we practiced our vocabulary by reading and writing short stories. To make this project more connected to the real-world, we made books that will be sent to Nicaragua through a program called Seeds of Learning. Seeds of Learning gives books to children in rural areas who don't have the chance to have a full education. In this project, we were given four weeks to write a short story and create illustrations. These books ranged from reading skills from kindergarten to fifth grade.
My inspiration came from where I was born Maui Hawaii, I decided I wanted to go with an ocean theme. My partner and I, focused on writing for the kindergarten age. We choose to write this book, hoping that we would teach kids how to count and learn about animals that lived in the sea.
I hope that kids in Nicaragua read my book, and expand there reading skills, learn how to count, learn about the animals that live in the sea, and most of all learn more about the world. I also hope that there curiosity will flourish, and they will love the books that our class made.
