College Essay Reflection
When I began writing my college essay my thoughts just rushed onto the page, flowing through my hand on to the page. Then after most of my main ideas were written I started to become brain blocked, I just couldn’t write anything as well as I did when I started my essay. In my first draft I had lots of big ideas but I didn’t completely elaborate on them. There weren’t any transitions between my paragraphs in the first draft, my grammar and wording was not very strong. In the final I strengthened my sentences from the first draft to help use less words but at the same time make the sentence sorter so I didn’t go over the word count. For example “and learned to work through my dyslexia.” with “by advocating for myself, asking the right people for support, and never giving up on myself.” Making lots of refinements helped me to improved my learning how to better every sentence even when I thought it was the best it could be. Having been open minded to new perspectives it has helped make my essay the best it can be, along with having the practice of painting a picture with words which made a my essay even stronger.
