Environmental Documentary Project
Project Description -
The Documentary Project was a done in both Digital Arts and Physics. The objective for this project was to create a 5-7 minute documentary that was based on an environmental or scientific issue in our area. To begin this project we pick group members that we wanted to work with, then we picked our environmental topic and started creating storyboards. My group members were Mady B, and Marilyn S, we chose to make our documentary on the Glen Canyon Dam. The most helpful resource in this project was looking at other documentaries, especially ones made by professional, by watching well made documentaries my group members and I were able to gain new ideas on how to make our documentary professional. After brainstorming were started looking for people to interview that were knowledgeable on our topic, after we got our interviews we started getting B roll and A roll to add into our documentary. The most important part of making this documentary was having a call to action plan, your call to action had to be very thought out and well done.

Project Reflection
What problem-solving skills (21st Century) are employed in making works of art?
In this Documentary Project my partners and I used many different problem solving skills in order to make our documentary. I feel that my group's main problem-solving skill was coming up with new ideas to solve our problems. More problem-solving skills we used during this project was communication, and critical thinking.
Why do Artists Produce Preliminary Plans? (sketches, brainstorms, storyboards, etc?)
In the Documentary Project my group members and I created a storyboard, this was one of the very first steps of making our documentary. We created our storyboard way before we started to get footage, making the storyboard really helped us to get the basic idea of what we wanted our documentary to turn out like. I feel that the main reason people make sketches, brainstorms, and storyboards is so they have something to got back to when they are creating their art piece.
How is art used in everyday life?
Art can be used in a lot of different ways art can be depressing, happy, inspirational, intense, overwhelming ect. Art usually always has a meaning behind it, for example my documentary project was an art piece that had an intention of being inspirational. Setting the feeling of an art piece also can create the meaning.

Mini Project on Stop Motion
I could use this this kind of technique in my Environmental Documentary Project to use the skills of lighting, camera angles and other photography skills such as close ups, and close shots things that can help improve my documentary.
Logo
In this project I am going to take away the fact that it is okay to back off when you are over stressed. During this project there was a com- potion for redesigning Mild To Wilds logo I decided I wanted to do it because it would be awesome to able to say I made that logo so I came up with a design. My design looked pretty okay on paper and I thought I would look even better on the computer when it was finished, but the only problem was I wanted my to look realistic because I had mountains but I do not have the skills in Adobe Illustrate in order to make it look so. I got frustrated and stressed out because the project was coming to an end so I decided to just make a logo that would be for me so I had to come up with another design. This helped release all the stress and frustration even though I was bombed out but about I realized that the most impotent thing was that I tried.
This is the one I came up with for Mild To Wild
This is the one I came up with for myself
Self Portrait
Project Objective: Create a self-portrait or develop a series of self portraits inspired by your personal and/or intellectual growth this year.
Why is it important to understand the intentions behind an artwork? A self-portrait in particular?
It is important to understand the intentions behind an artwork because is an expression of itself. When an individual makes a artwork they create it with their emotions and experiences that they have had in the past. Artists manufacture their artwork with certain intentions, so some artists might view this persons artwork in a different way. In order to understand the artists intentions behind creating the art piece you must realize their intentions behind it and try to see it from there point of view. This is especially important in a self-portrait because if there is a person that know the artist that person will see and understand the art. A person that doesn't know the artists might interpret the art in a completely different way. The person that knows the artists will interpret the art work in a different way then a person who doesn't know the artists. If you understand the artists than you can see a more touching or striking image that has more meaning.
What problem solving skills are employed in making visual reflections of self?
In my opinion it was hard to create a self portrait of my self. It was hard to for me to come up with a creative idea and at the same time be emotional . Also putting this in perspective and having the ability to accept critiques from others.
Teacher Creature Project
Our Project Objectives: Envision and Critique to reflect. Recognize, demonstrate, and debate philosophic arguments about the nature of art and beauty (aesthetics).
Project Reflection
The teacher creature project was a three week long photoshop project. The requirement was to choose one or more teachers and use our knowledge of photoshop to turn them into a creature of our choice. For my project I chose my adviser Dan Thurber, I turned him into a owl with a minion, unicorn, sluggish thing, house floating away, cat, and a butterfly as his friends. The hardest part of this project was coming up with a final idea for what is was going to make my advisor. I had three different ideas for my first one I was going to blend in Dan's face one a plate of food, second one Dan was going to be a fish. The third one I was going to make Dan into a merman. This was difficult because I wanted my teacher creature to be realistic. Before this project I never considered myself as an artist, but I like to doodle and draw sometimes for fun but I never worked on computer art work, or any serious art work. After doing this project I started to consider myself more of an artist. The objectives of the teacher creature project was to try to recognize our personal artistic style. I don't feel that my personal style as fully developed, I do feel that this project has helped me recognize the techniques I want to incorporate into my artwork. I would say that my style embraces color, and realism, I like to use color because it is more eye catching. I like to make my art piece as realistic as possible, this isn’t repersented in my teacher creature but I generally try to make realistic art because I feel like it shows that I like to take the project seriously. Along with finding our personal style we were also asked to to consider the underlying structures into our culture that guided the creation of our project. I didn’t include any images of celebrities or presidential candidates, which two main topics right now. My teacher creature was going more of off humor, which is what I think most of my peers did probably because likeable.
